Lagoon makes software that runs on your own computer, so your data stays yours. This page explains the information this website collects, how we use it, and the choices you have.
Short version: we collect as little as possible — an email address if you join the waitlist or buy a product, plus basic, cookieless analytics. We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information.
Who we are
Lagoon ("we", "us") operates this website and the Lagoon Micro waitlist. You can reach us at getlagoon@gmail.com.
Information we collect
- Email address — only if you join the waitlist or buy a product.
- Basic, cookieless analytics — page views and general location (country level), via Cloudflare Web Analytics. No cookies, no cross-site tracking.
- Ad measurement data — our website uses the Meta Pixel, which collects information such as pages visited, actions taken (for example, joining the waitlist), IP address, and browser information, and shares it with Meta Platforms, Inc. so we can tell whether our ads work. Meta may use that data under its own privacy policy.
We do not collect your name, address, payment information, or any other personal information through this website.
How we use it
- To email you when Lagoon Micro is ready, and about your purchase if you buy.
- To understand which pages and ads are working, in aggregate.
We do not sell, rent, or trade your email address or any other personal information, and we do not use it for any other purpose.
Cookies and tracking
Our analytics (Cloudflare Web Analytics) is cookieless. The Meta Pixel may set cookies in your browser. You can control ad tracking and opt out of interest-based advertising through Meta Ad Preferences, the Digital Advertising Alliance opt-out, or Your Online Choices (EU). You can also block cookies in your browser settings.
Who processes it
We use a small number of service providers, each of which processes data only to provide its service to us:
- Resend — stores and sends our email.
- Netlify — hosts this website.
- Cloudflare — provides analytics.
- Meta Platforms, Inc. — receives ad measurement data from the Meta Pixel, under Meta's own privacy policy.
We do not share your information with anyone else, except if required by law.
Affiliate links
Our machines page links to retailers like Amazon and B&H. If you click through and buy, we may earn a commission. Those retailers collect information and use cookies under their own privacy policies. We never see your payment information or your accounts with them.
Data retention
We keep your email address only as long as needed for the purpose you gave it to us — until you unsubscribe or ask us to delete it. Analytics data is kept in aggregate form only.
Your choices
- Every email we send includes an unsubscribe link.
- To have your email address deleted entirely, write to us at getlagoon@gmail.com and we'll remove it.
- Depending on where you live, you may have the right to ask for a copy of your personal information, or to ask us to correct or delete it. Write to us at the address above and we'll respond.
Children's privacy
This website is not directed at children, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 13. If you believe a child has given us an email address, write to us and we'll delete it.
International transfers
Our service providers may process your information in the United States or other countries where they operate. By using this website, you understand your information may be transferred to those countries.
Changes to this policy
If we change how we collect or use information, we'll update this page and change the date above. Significant changes will be noted here before they take effect.
The product itself
Lagoon Micro runs entirely on your Mac. Your chats and documents never leave your computer, and the app has no account and no telemetry about what you do with it. There is nothing for us to collect.
